Things to do in Niagara Falls for March Break

Kids everywhere are counting down the days until March Break. For those families who are looking for more of a funcation experience close to home, there are a ton of things to do in Niagara Falls for March Break.

Get ready to pack your bags and head over to the city filled with F-U-N!!

Here is a list of the must-see, must-do experiences while you are here:

#1 Stay at a Family Focused Hotel (hint, hint we know of a good Niagara Falls Hotel)

We all know that kids love hotels and for that one reason alone, you don’t really need to leave the hotel, because the kids will have fun jumping on the beds (shhh don’t tell the hotel), watching movies, staying in the their jammies all day, splashing in the indoor pool and checking out the arcade room. We do know however that as a parent for your sanity (insert a happy face emoji here) you need to leave the hotel.

#2 Clifton Hill Kids of all ages are drawn to this place of fun. They could spend hours playing all the games in the Great Canadian Midway (over 70,000 square feet of fun to be exact). There is also the Ghost Blasters Dark Ride, Strike Rock N’ Bowl, Glow in the Dark mini golf and the Niagara SkyWheel and the new-ish Zombie Attack for those kids who are obsessed with zombies. Plus there are tons of Haunted Houses and Museums to explore. Your kids will never have an "I'm bored" moment. Your best bet is to buy the Clifton Hill Fun Pass - 6 great attractions, 1 low price or you can check out our Kids Love Niagara Package, which includes the Fun Pass. You also can't miss the adrenaline boosting Niagara Speedway. It will be closed until the Spring, which means you'll have to come back for more fun.  Check out all the fun details.

#3 Butterfly Conservatory  You'll definitely get one with nature at the Butterfly Conservatory when you get transported into a tropical rain forest paradise full of lush vegetation, trickling waterfalls, and thousands of colourful butterflies (see if you can count them all). There should be over 2000. Parents you will love this experience too because it’s fun and educational (fun-cational). I think we just created a word. Nope, just googled it and it is a word.

The Art of Nature Series - Feb. 16th - April 28th - features specialty programming throughout Niagara Parks, including a travelling exhibit at the Butterfly Conservatory highlighting Canadian talents with winning photographs from the Canadian Wildlife Photography of the Year contest.

#4 Bird Kingdom A trip to Niagara Falls would not be complete without a trip to the Bird Kingdom, the World’s Largest Indoor Bird Aviary. Here you’ll experience an amazing array of exotic birds flying freely in a multi-level rainforest, a night jungle with bats, owls and other noctural creatures, a whole room dedicated to reptiles such as snakes, tortoises, bearded dragons and other exotic species and a lorikeet feeding area. See how the Bird Kingdom is the most fanciful thing this side of fiction.

#5 Greg Frewin Magic Show What child doesn't like magic? Greg Frewin is not like your typical magic shows. This show is similar to one that you would experience in Las Vegas - it's captivating, featuring illusions and real siberian tigers and exotic birds that will take your breath away. Greg Frewin is an illusionist and "World Champion of Magic". His awards include First Place at the International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM); The Gold Medal of Excellence, also from the IBM; First Place at the Society of American Magicians' annual magic convention competition; and first place at FISM, the "Olympics of Magic", which were held in Yokohama, Japan in 1994. Greg Frewin was also featured on the Penn and Teller Show. The Greg Frewin Theatre has two shows playing each day during March Break, from March 12th - 17th (one at 1:00pm and one at 7:30pm).

#6 Mini Pops Live at the Scotiabank Convention Centre  - Saturday March 9th - 6:00pm The Mini Pops are back for another March Break dance party (favourite covers from Ariana Grande, Maroon 5, and Bruno Mars). Get your tickets soon because they will sell out fast.

#7 First Annual Natural History Exhibition - March 9th - 12th This is a great outing for the family!  Meet a sloth and over 30 live animals at the first annual Niagara History Exhibition. Over 25,000 square feet of fun, including amazing interactive and educational exhibits.

Plus, there are the obvious Niagara Falls Attractions that never sleep in the Winter, such as Journey Behind the Falls, Niagara’s Fury and more.
