Niagara Falls Winter Festival of Lights

The Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival of Lights 2015 is one of the most wonderful events of the year in Niagara Falls starting on November 21st and running until January 31st, 2016 (sing with us).

The 33rd annual Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival of Lights (a.k.a. Winter Festival of Lights to us local folk) is finally here! It's definitely an exciting annual event that we all look forward to every year. It's the largest Illumination Festival in Canada and the city of Niagara Falls is alive with over 3 Million twinkling lights and over 125 animated displays.

Laser Light Shows

Don't miss the ALL NEW Laser Light Shows happening throughout various Niagara Falls neighbourhoods. There will be two x 15 minute spectacular shows:

Victoria Avenue District - December 19th - 30th at 6:30pm and 8:30pm

Afterwards, be sure to check out the Niagara Falls Winter Festival of Lights' 5km illumination route to see the beautiful light displays throughout the Niagara Parks Winter Wonderland, Dufferin Islands and in surrounding tourist districts.

Spirit of Niagara Sound & Light Show

There's so much entertainment happening in Niagara Falls this Winter. Catch the thrilling thematic journey of Niagara experienced through music, spectacular lighting and image projections. Through impressive state-of-the-art digital technology, the show depicts Niagara’s arts, culture and entertainment!  The city-facing side of the Oakes Hotel will serve as the canvas for the Festival’s newest lighting technology. Acting as a storytelling aid, Heno, the Thunderbeing, who lived in a huge grotto behind the Great Falls, and his arch nemesis; the Great Serpent of the Falls, will steer you through the “Spirit of Niagara” Light and Sound Show which features Niagara’s rich history. The "Spirit of Niagara” Sound & Light Show is Presented by Fallsview Casino Resort and Tourism Partnership of Niagara.

Dufferin Islands

Year after year, visitors love the tradition of Dufferin Islands. This will be the second year that Dufferin Islands will feature the Canadian Wildlife displays including: a moose and bison, howling wolves, charging rams, bears, beavers, geese and deer. This winter wonderland also includes the Sylma, a 20' x 35'  magnificent tower of cascading lights enhanced by projection illuminations on over 70 trees and a 30' water feature which will be choreographed to music.

Also, if you tune into 100.5 FM during your drive through Dufferin Islands you will enjoy Christmas music to get you in the festive mood.
