It is official! The grand opening of the new Meridian Centre in St. Catharines is happening on Saturday, October 11th. Doors open at 10am and the ribbon cutting ceremony happens at 10:30am. Self-guided tours will run until 5pm that day.

            This arena seats 6,000 people for concerts and events and 5,000 people for hockey games. And speaking of hockey games, the Meridian Centre is the new home of the Niagara IceDogs. Hockey Canada and the Ontario Women's Hockey Association announced that the Meridian Centre will be home to the IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women's World Championship in January 2016.
