How to have Fun in Niagara Falls on a Budget

There are so many great attractions and sites to explore during your stay with us "in the centre of it all" and here are a few (budget- friendly) fun things to do in Niagara Falls this Summer:

Toonie Tuesdays – Niagara Parks (all attractions and heritage sites)

In Niagara Falls, we love our families and we recognize that 2020 feels very different. Niagara Parks is offering $2 off the various attractions for children under 17 when an adult ticket is purchased:

  • Journey Behind the Falls
  • White Water WALK
  • Butterfly Conservatory
  • Whirlpool Aero Car
  • Floral Showhouse
  • Falls Incline
  • Old Fort Erie
  • Laura Secord Homestead
  • McFarland House
  • WildPlay Zipline to the Falls and Adventure Course

Plus, to add to the fun factor, kids will receive a complimentary Coca Cola beverage and hot dogs are only $2. Every kid loves the occasional coca cola.

Thankful Thursdays

We also appreciate and recognize our frontline workers and how essential they are in the fight against COVID-19 and every single day. Every Thursday, Niagara Parks is offering 2 for 1 admission to Niagara Parks attractions

Kids Play Free Golf

When we say golf, we aren’t talking about the mini golf kind, we’re talking about the grown-up kind. What better way to teach our kids than by having them learn from their favourite teacher….you. Children (19 and under) can play a free 9 hole round at the Chippawa golf course, at Legends on the Niagara, when accompanied by an adult.

Hiking by the Gorge

This is a great way to experience the beauty of Niagara Falls and get your heart rate going….plus this hike is compliments of Mother Nature

The Niagara Glen (or “The Gorge” as locals like to call it) is a 4km (2.5 mile) hike starting at the steel stairway. There are a few paths to choose from, but the end result is pretty fabulous (no matter the path you choose). Along the way you’ll pass prehistoric geological formations, some spectacular trees and vegetation and maybe even a few cool insects. The end of the paths will lead you to an incredible view of the rapid waters of the Niagara River and the breathtaking Niagara River Whirlpool. The rapids are considered Class 6, which are some of the most powerful rapids in the world, but as a spectator they are so breathtaking to watch. Be sure to bring water and some snacks on this adventure and make an afternoon of it.

Niagara Falls, our natural wonder

And we can’t forget a visit to our natural wonder, Niagara Falls. There are three waterfalls, the American Falls, the Bridal Veil Falls and the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. All are incredible, but we’re a little biased being Canadian and all. The Falls also have different personalities. They are bright and cheery first thing in the morning as the sun begins to rise. And in the evenings they tend to have a little spark to them and light up with a breathtaking glow. No matter what time of day you choose, they will always make your eyes widen with excitement.

Clifton Hill - the Street of Fun

Clifton Hill, one of our favourite neighbours is offering a Fun Pass where you can enjoy three of their attractions (Niagara SkyWheel, Movieland Wax Museum and Dino Golf/Wizard Golf). Adults are $19.95 and kids under 12 are only $14.95. With this pass you'll save over $15.

So there you have it, lots of great things to explore in Niagara Falls when you are on a budget. Plus we all know that kids love hotel sleepovers and movie night in your guestroom. Be sure to check out our hotel packages to find the one that best suits your budget.

PLEASE NOTE: Face coverings are required. Due to COVID-19, some hotel facilities or services may not be available during your stay.
